Postdoctoral Research Associate (non-tenure), Delaware State University

Mid-Atlantic Region Ecological Observ. Needed: Postdoctoral Research Associate (non-tenure), Delaware State University

Responsibilities: One 12-month postdoctoral position is available to contribute to a project using interdisciplinary conceptual modeling to develop resource management and research strategies in coastal watersheds. The selected candidate will utilize GIS applications in coastal resource management, with a focus on water and wetlands. The position is affiliated with the Environmental Cooperative Science Center, a NOAA-supported consortium of universities that collectively address coastal resource management issues. Further information on the project is available at http://cars.desu.edu/faculty/mreiter/dnerr.htm. Opportunities are available to develop personal research projects within the ECSC. Participation in the academic life of the department and teaching one or two courses per year is expected. Requirements: Applicants must hold a Ph.D. from an accredited college or university with major study and publication experience in one of the NOAA core science areas, such as marine, estuarine, ecological, environmental, or similar. Candidates with a strong background in GIS/remote sensing and experience in aquatic and/or wetland science and resource issues will receive preference. Minority applicants are strongly encouraged to apply. The position is housed in the Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources and pays $38K.
