11th International Interdisciplinary Conference on the Environment

For those of us interested in interdisciplinary environmental science and environmental policy, the 11th International Interdisciplinary Conference on the Environment will be held June 23-25 in Orlando FL. This conference is sponsored by the Interdisciplinary Environmental Association, an international group of academics, practitioners, and interested citizens who approach environmental issues from an interdisciplinary perspective. The conference routinely has dozens of different disciplines and countries represented, yet it is small enough that there is a significant amount of discussion and feedback from many perspectives. For further information, submission instructions, and/or to download the conference registration form, go to the IEA website. The abstract deadline is April 30, 2005.

NEON Design Consortium Funded

The Cooperative Agreement between the National Science Foundation and the American Institute of Biological Sciences under which the National Ecological Observatory Network (NEON) will be planned, designed and budgeted is now in place. NEON Coordination and Implementation Conference Report

AIBS has announced the release of a report from the NEON Coordination and Implementation Conference. The white paper, entitled A Plan for Developing and Governing the National Ecological Observatory Network (NEON), makes recommendations about both the organizational structure of NEON and the process for moving forward.
